Our outdoor family show, When Seagulls Saved the World, will return next summer. Sign up to our mailing list to be the first to know when and where!
Suffocated by plastic pollution, the world as we know it is on the brink of destruction and the seagulls, realising life would be pretty dull without pasties, chips and ice cream, decide to hatch a plan to save the world.
When Seagulls Saved the World is a one-hour outdoor puppetry show about plastic pollution featuring original live and recorded music, for everyone aged 5 and up. Running time: 1 hour, no interval. We run accompanying puppet-making and puppetry workshops for families and adults.
After an artist’s residency at AMATA, Falmouth University in summer 2022, we took the show and our puppetry workshops on an Arts Council and FEAST-funded tour of Cornwall.
Jennie Rawling (director), Esther Wilson (producer), Ben Sutcliffe (puppeteer/performer/musical director), Robbie Bellekom (puppeteer/performer), Angela Laverick (puppeteer/performer), Naomi Oppenheim (puppet-maker), Mo Clouting (assistant puppet-maker), Ellie Robinson (marketing support).
You can download our full Project Report and our R&D Project Overview below, to read about the outcomes and impact of both the research and development stage, and the Cornwall touring stage, of the project on the artists and members of our local community who took part.
